An “old man bar” hip enough for everyone: Tribute in Sherman Oaks

We recently followed advice of a tiki bartender friend (Hi Syd) and tried Tribute in Sherman Oaks. And why not? After all, it’s around the corner from our home and two blocks from our Ventura Blvd jewelry shop. Convenient… though we simply hadn’t gotten ’round to it.

We finally stopped in mid-week for a cocktail with a friend. FABULOUS!!!! It’s an “old man style” bar – not too small, but not huge. We liked it so much, we returned days later for some munchies instead of going to a restaurant for dinner.

Tribute has a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere (sofa lounge for groups), SUPERB cocktails by mixologists Matt and Chris (try The Ugh and/or Tonga Hut Tallboy) and tasty appetizers good enough to make a meal (e.g., fried calamari and bacon-wrapped dates.)

The bartenders have outgoing and upbeat personalities. Very nice people! Their patrons are a very nice, friendly and diverse mix of locals. There is PLENTY of parking on the surrounding streets.

As a final bonus… it’s connected to a vibrant mexican restaurant. We haven’t tried it, but if you crave a big meal, it’s right there. Cheers!

On Lisa’s Clean Plate Rating scale, Tribute gets a 5 – CLEAN PLATE!
